COMSTECH is the Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and
Technological Cooperation established by the Third Summit of OIC
(Organization of the Islamic Conference) held at Makkah, Saudi Arabia, 1981.

Its mission is to help to strengthen individual and collective capacity of OIC
member states in science and technology through mutual cooperation,
collaboration and networking of resources. COMSTECH enables the OIC
member states to use science and technologies as the powerful contributor
towards socio-economic development and rapid industrialization in the OIC region.

On behalf of Commonwealth Ministers of Education, Commonwealth of
Learning (COL) is co-ordinating developing the Virtual University
for Small States of the Commonwealth (VUSSC). The VUSSC's
countries can be focused on creating skills related courses in the
areas such as tourism, entrepreneurship, professional development,
disaster management as well as tons of technical and vocational subjects.

The Commonwealth of Learning (COL) is an intergovernmental
organization created by Commonwealth Heads of
Government to encourage the development and sharing of
open learning, distance education knowledge, resources and technologies.

COL is helping developing nations to improve access to quality education
and training. Bringing together some 1.7 billion people of many faiths,
races, languages, traditions and levels of economic development, the
Commonwealth of Learning represents almost one third of the world's population.
